About us
With 50 years of fire safety experience, we serve fire door installers and firestopping contractors across the UK through our vast portfolio of passive fire protection products from well-known and trusted brands.
The Role
We’re looking for a bright, commercially minded individual to be the voice of FireSealsDirect — someone who genuinely enjoys talking to people, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and knows how to turn a conversation into an opportunity. This is a customer-facing sales and service role at the heart of our business. You’ll handle inbound enquiries from customers and prospects, follow up on outstanding quotes, and proactively reach out to lapsed accounts to win back business. You don’t need to be a hardcore salesperson, but you do need to be confident, helpful, and switched on enough to spot a commercial opportunity when it’s right in front of you.
What You’ll Do
- Inbound Sales & Customer Service
- Answer incoming sales and service calls from customers and prospects, providing a knowledgeable, friendly, and efficient first point of contact.
- Handle email and webchat enquiries with the same level of professionalism and responsiveness.
- Process sales orders accurately and promptly onto the ERP/CRM system.
- Resolve customer queries, complaints, and after-sales issues in a positive and solution-focused manner.
- Liaise with the operations team on stock availability and lead times to give customers accurate information.
- Co-ordinate with the accounts team when customers have queries relating to invoicing or account status.
- Identify and act on upselling and cross-selling opportunities naturally within conversations.
- Follow up on outstanding quotes proactively to maximise conversion rates.
- Reach out to lapsed customers to re-engage them, understand their needs, and win back business.
- Identify growth opportunities within existing accounts and flag them to the wider sales team.
- Conduct basic price negotiations with customers within agreed parameters, balancing competitiveness with margin.
- Maintain an up-to-date and accurate CRM record of all customer interactions and pipeline activity.
- Contribute positively to team performance and a great team culture — good humour is actively encouraged.
- Participate in regular product training to develop knowledge of our fire door and passive fire protection range.
- Support broader sales and administrative activities as required by the business.
- Ensure all enquiries are actioned by close of business on the day of receipt.
What we’re looking for
- Essential
- A natural communicator — confident, friendly, and clear on the phone.
- A genuine team player with a positive attitude.
- Commercially minded: able to hold a basic price negotiation and spot an opportunity.
- Resilient and proactive — comfortable picking up the phone and making outbound calls.
- Well-organised with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks at once.
- Competent with IT systems: Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and web-based platforms.
- GCSE-level education or relevant work experience.
- Experience in a sales support, customer service, or inside sales role.
- Familiarity with the construction, fire protection, or building products sector.
- Knowledge of passive fire protection, fire doors, or related regulations.
- Experience using an ERP or CRM system.
Benefits You’ll Enjoy
- Generous Holiday Allowance.
- Company Profit Share Scheme.
- Employee Assistance Programme.
- Free Fruit.
- Career progression opportunities.
Why You’ll Love Working for Us
- Competitive pay package with profit share opportunity.
- Be part of a fast-paced, high-impact team delivering products that protect lives.
- Collaborative, supportive environment with strong team culture.
- Modern purpose-built office and warehouse, with free on-site parking.
- Work in a role where every day you make a difference for our customers.
