A Junior Project Manager plays a key role in the company, overseeing the entire lifecycle of small to medium-scale events. They are responsible for quoting, planning, and delivering high-quality events for our clients. We expect a Junior Project Manager to have solid event delivery experience and skills, quickly becoming invaluable to our team and clients. This role is a stepping stone to becoming a Project Manager , making it ideal for someone with some project management experience or a senior technician looking to transition into project management . This must be done within budget while ensuring Firefly\’s profitability. Attention to detail, a proactive attitude, and a flexible mindset are crucial for handling the challenges of live event planning and execution. You will direct, support, and take responsibility for other team members throughout the event planning process. Since events are a team effort , we seek a collaborative team player who supports colleagues, acknowledges mistakes, and is not afraid to ask for help when needed. Most of our work is corporate, including conferences, awards evenings, dinners, and meetings , often in collaboration with agencies. While most events are live, some may be hybrid or virtual. Key Responsibilities Manage time and resources effectively to complete event tasks on schedule, professionally, within budget, and profitably . Serve as the client\’s primary contact for the project, building strong relationships and becoming an integral part of their team. Ensure events are professionally, creatively, and profitably executed . Remain flexible to client and business needs. Identify potential issues in advance and seek support when necessary. Junior Project Manager Take client briefs, expanding on details as needed. Provide creative, technical, and innovative recommendations to enhance event delivery. Prepare event quotes to ensure they offer excellent client value while maintaining profitability. Collaborate with the technical team to confirm feasibility and delegate responsibilities where necessary. Ensure accurate cost estimations , including obtaining supplier quotes. Provide supporting materials such as plans, visuals, documents, and timelines to engage and excite the client. Clearly outline assumptions, dependencies, and conditions associated with each quote. Coordinate event staffing, freelancers, local crew, logistics, and accommodation . Ensure all required equipment and materials are listed, available, and prepared. Develop and manage event schedules, schematics, and crew packs for on-site teams. Supervise the preparation and loading of equipment . Work closely with the technician team during pre-production and on-site setup to ensure the best possible event delivery. Liaise with suppliers and venues . Provide on-site client support to ensure a seamless experience. Ensure the technical team has all the necessary resources, including event content, schedules, and logistical support . Conduct post-event debriefs with the team and client, identifying improvements for future events. While not required , technical event setup and operation skills would be advantageous. Key Qualities & Requirements A thriving Junior Project Manager should possess the following: Strong organisational, communication, and multitasking skills. 2+ years of experience in event coordination or an entry-level project management role within the live events industry. Technical knowledge is relevant to event production. Logical problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to remain calm under pressure. Ability to acknowledge and correct mistakes , focusing on team-oriented solutions. Commitment to continuous learning and professional development. Role Logistics Location: Primarily based in the main office with a dedicated desk. The role involves working on-site for event delivery, site visits, and client meetings. While we prefer in-office collaboration five days a week , occasional remote work may be permitted with prior management approval. Hours: Standard working hours are 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM with a one-hour lunch break. However, overtime will be required during peak event periods. Compensation for Overtime: Our standard contract terms state that overtime is compensated with time off in lieu. However, overtime will be paid accordingly during busy periods when taking time off is not feasible. Salary & Benefits: The salary is competitive, with a base starting salary of £30,000, which will be adjusted depending on experience. Holiday entitlement and additional benefits will be discussed upon hiring.
