Fireflai is looking for an engineer with full stack experience who has the drive to become a leader. Someone who has a product driven mind set who is comfortable solving Data challenges using technology. As an early member of the Fireflai team you will be ambitious and driven to work with the founders and occasionally speaking with customers to shape what you build and demo your hard work. You will have input into the direction of the technology and help shape the engineering team as we grow.
As founding engineer/engineering lead, you will work on the development of a SaaS multi-tenant platform that integrates with clients' environments and utilises AI to automate operational workflows. Your personal goal will be to build high quality, performant user facing applications and internal tools.
We expect you to succeed by:
1. Being a highly motivated, self starter happy to contribute to ideas and bring your full vision to the product
2. Working closely with our product managers, UX designers, clients and fellow engineers.
3. Developing new platform functionality across the stack, always striving for innovation.
4. Implementing software engineering best practices.
5. Working in a cross-functional team in a startup environment.
Must have experience – full stack development, from solution architecture through to devops – designing, testing, implementing, deploying and monitoring solutions from scratch through to production using:
· React / Typescript frontend
· Express / Typescript backend
· SQL & NoSQL database
· Cloud native architecture & services (such as serverless functions, container orchestration, databases, and API management solutions)
· Declarative Infrastructure as Code
· CI/CD pipeline
· used foundational LLMs (e.g. GPT/Claude/etc.) via API in production code
· Strong Academic foundation: First class/2:1 in relevant STEM subject – Bsc/Beng preferred
This experience including early stage SaaS business or equivalent
Nice to haves:
· Machine learning exposure and understanding
· Exposure to Data science/data engineering concepts
· Product/supply chain/back office process experience/understanding
· Manchester based/happy to travel to Manchester once a month
