An exciting opportunity to be part of the fabulous Cabana family! Our stunning restaurant is in need of a Kitchen Porter. Cabana is the home of the mighty flame-grilled Spicy Malagueta Chicken! Our restaurants are Latin American inspired known for fabulous grills and cocktails delivered in a vibrant, buzzing atmosphere!
We are ideally looking for a Kitchen Porter who:
- Delivers our core focus; To lift people’s spirits & create memorable experiences
- Maintains the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen, including washing dishes, pots, pans, and utensils
- Assists chefs and kitchen staff with food preparation and other tasks as needed
- Ensures all kitchen equipment is cleaned, stored properly, and in good working condition
- Helps with receiving and organizing kitchen deliveries, ensuring items are stored correctly
- Performs basic food preparation tasks such as peeling, chopping, and portioning ingredients under the direction of the kitchen staff
- Conducts deep cleaning tasks regularly, including kitchen floors, walls, and cooking surfaces
- Follows stock rotation procedures to minimize waste and ensure freshness of ingredients and ensures food is labelled correctly
- Adheres to all health and safety standards and guidelines, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment
- Performs other duties as required by the Head Chef or kitchen management to support the smooth running of the kitchen
- Ensures all kitchen areas, including storage and refrigeration, are kept clean and organized
- Ensures compliance with food safety and health and safety regulations at all times
- Is available full time and flexible to work evenings, weekends, and most holidays
- Has a good personality and a positive and enthusiastic attitude
- Is consistent and reliable and an excellent team player
