An exciting opportunity to be part of the fabulous Cabana family! Our stunning restaurant is in need of a Commis Chef. Cabana is the home of the mighty flame-grilled Spicy Malagueta Chicken! Our restaurants are Latin American inspired, known for fabulous grills and cocktails delivered in a vibrant, buzzing atmosphere!

We are ideally looking for a Commis Chef who:

  • Delivers our core focus; to lift people’s spirits & create memorable experiences
  • Assists in the preparation and cooking of menu items under the guidance of senior chefs
  • Ensures the highest standards of food hygiene and safety are maintained at all times
  • Maintains a clean and organised kitchen workspace
  • Supports with stock management and stock control
  • Participates in daily kitchen operations, including prep work, cooking, and plating
  • Collaborates with the kitchen team to ensure smooth service during busy periods
  • Monitors food stock levels and reports any shortages or issues promptly
  • Assists in the receiving and proper storage of deliveries, ensuring quality and freshness
  • Takes responsibility for specific sections of the kitchen, ensuring consistency and quality
  • Adheres to portion control guidelines to minimise waste and optimise cost efficiency
  • Operates kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, reporting any maintenance needs
  • Ensures that all dishes are prepared to the highest standards of presentation and taste
  • Assists in maintaining accurate records of kitchen operations, including temperature logs and cleaning schedules
  • Ensures compliance with food safety and health and safety regulations at all times
  • Is available full time and flexible to work evenings, weekends, and most holidays
  • Has a good personality and a positive and enthusiastic attitude
  • Is consistent and reliable and an excellent team player
