Now we need someone to own the foundation underneath: architecture, scalability, reliability, and taking our platform to the next level.You'll build the platform behind some of the most important safety workflows in the country, and you'll have the freedom to shape how it's built. You make the big technical calls, and you're excited to own them.You'll be our first engineering hire. Together, we'll build the engineering function, and the path to Head of Engineering or CTO is open and yours to take.## No two days are the same, but as Founding Engineer you can expect to* Develop our tech stack and walk on the edge of development speed and delivering stable and secure software* Make the architecture decisions we'll build on for years* Balance solving today's customer pain with building something that lasts* Build AI features that save assessors hours on every report* Work highly agentically: run several worktrees in parallel, let agents write the code, and own the architecture and quality of everything that ships* Talk to customers, understand how assessors work, and build from that* Shape how we hire, build and ship as the engineering team grows## What we value* **Builder at heart:** you've built and shipped applications end to end, as a CTO or as a senior engineer* **Pragmatic and fast:** you ship things that work and focus on impact, not on perfect code* **Architecture first:** you think in systems, and you understand every line your agents write* **AI-native:** you're excited about building AI applications and already work with coding agents daily* **Customer-minded:** you enjoy talking to users and turning what you hear into product* **Entrepreneurial:** you take ownership without being asked* Ideally 3-4+ years of experience, preferably in startups and AI products* Familiar with our modern stack (TypeScript, Next.js, React, tRPC, Supabase, Vercel, Capacitor, LLM APIs).
