The apprentice will support the estimating team by reviewing drawings, measuring fire protection works, preparing quotations and cost estimates, liaising with suppliers and clients, and helping ensure tenders are submitted accurately and on time.

What You'll Do
- Reviewing tender enquiries, specifications, drawings, fire strategies, and associated documentation to determine project requirements
- Producing detailed take-offs for passive fire protection works, including intumescent coatings, fire stopping, compartmentation, fire barriers, fire doors, and associated remedial works
- Preparing accurate cost estimates covering labour, materials, access equipment, specialist subcontractors, and associated project costs
- Measuring structural steel from drawings and schedules to determine intumescent coating requirements
- Reviewing penetration schedules and fire strategy drawings to quantify fire stopping requirements
- Obtaining and evaluating supplier and subcontractor quotations to ensure compliance, technical suitability, and best value
- Preparing tender submissions, qualifications and clarifications
- Supporting project handovers to the Operations and Contracts teams following successful tender awards
- Maintaining awareness of current passive fire protection products, legislation, certification, and market trends
- Attending internal meetings, client meetings, and site surveys where required
