They are seeking an exceptional Sous Chef/2nd Chef to join their talented culinary team. As well as catering for the residents, you will also cater for events, so will have the opportunity to showcase your passion for creating a variety of delightful, nutritious menus that bring joy to the residents' days.
As the 2nd Chef, you'll be a key part of ensuring the residents enjoy a fine dining experience at every meal. All food is prepared from fresh seasonal ingredients from local suppliers where possible. You'll work closely with the Head Chef to develop and execute creative menus, drawing on your expertise to contribute ideas and help shape the kitchen's culinary direction.
You will be responsible for assisting with ordering, stock control, health & safety, food safety and all due diligence as well as covering for the Head Chef in their absence.

Hours
This 2nd Chef position offers an excellent work life balance with 3 days off and only working every other weekend. You will be required to work 4 days per week, 7am-5pm, alternate weekends.
Requirements
- Ideally you will have previous experience as a chef in a high quality, fresh food restaurant or luxury care home with knowledge of IDDSI.
- Previous experience to Senior Chef de Partie or 2nd Chef / Sous Chef level.
- Experience within the pastry section as the role will include daily baking.
- Passion for providing exceptional food and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and health and safety.
- Ability to work collaboratively with the Head Chef and contribute to the development of innovative and seasonal menus.
- Strong organisational and time management skills to ensure mealtimes are a highlight of our residents' days.
- Enthusiasm for working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and a desire to learn and grow within the industry.
- Excellent knowledge of food preparation, presentation, and service.
Preferred Qualifications
- NVQ 2/3 or equivalent in Catering or Culinary Arts.
- Food Hygiene Level 2/3.
