Our client is a beautiful, luxury care home near Chichester, West Sussex, part of an award-winning care group recognised for delivering not only outstanding care but also hospitality and dining experiences. They are now looking for a passionate and experienced Second Chef to join their talented kitchen team and help deliver exceptional, restaurant-quality dining for residents and guests.
This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled Second Chef/Sous Chef who takes pride in creating fresh, nutritious, and beautifully presented meals. Working alongside the Head Chef, you will play a key role in the day-to-day running of the kitchen, menu development, and delivering an exceptional dining experience that genuinely enhances residents’ quality of life. This Second Chef role also offers the chance to support private dining and special events, allowing you to showcase creativity across a variety of seasonal menus and dishes.

What We’re Looking For
- Previous chef experience within a care home environment, including knowledge of IDDSI
- Previous restaurant experience working with fresh produce
- Experience at Senior Chef de Partie, Sous Chef, or Second Chef/2nd Chef level
- Strong pastry and baking skills
- Passion for fresh food, presentation, and excellent service
- Organised, reliable, and able to work well under pressure
- Creative approach to menu planning and food preparation
- Positive, proactive, and team-focused attitude
Qualifications (Preferred)
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Catering/Culinary Arts (or equivalent)
- Food Hygiene Level 2 or 3 certificate
Working Hours
- 40 hours per week
- Alternate weekends required
- Working 4 days per week with 3 days off every week
