Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service (NIFRS) serves the entire community, a population of 1.9 million in an area of over 5,500 square miles. NIFRS has a proud tradition and history of serving the community with distinction. NIFRS invite applications for the following role:

Procurement Advisor – Job Ref: N193/09/2025

This is a key role in the NIFRS finance team. The post-holder will support the Procurement and Contracts Manager in delivering an efficient and effective procurement and contract management service that ensures NIFRS has access to procure the goods and services required to support the needs of the communities we serve. This is a wide and varied role and the post holder will be responsible for supporting the function through provision of advice and guidance as well as transactional processing and quality assurance of procurement and contract management activity. The post holder will contribute as an integral member of the Finance team to the provision of a modern, professional and responsive financial service to support the purpose, outcomes and values of NIFRS.

Hours of work

Currently 36ΒΌ hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9.00 am to 5.00 pm. A Flexible Working Hours Scheme is in operation. In view of the level of this appointment, the post holder will be required to work in such a way as to fulfil the obligations of the post.

Location and appointment

There is currently one permanent post based at NIFRS Headquarters, 1 Seymour Street, Lisburn, BT27 4SX. This recruitment and selection process will also be used to fill future vacancies; a reserve list will be created for 12 months should any additional fixed term or permanent vacancies arise (offers of posts will be made in merit order).

Salary

The salary scale is PO1. The salary range is currently Β£37,035 – Β£39,513 per annum (Under review).
