We are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for a Salaried GP to join our established training practice in Widnes. Located in a state-of-the-art, purpose-built health centre in a desirable neighbourhood, we serve a patient population of approximately 12,000. We host a fantastic group of forward-thinking & friendly clinicians made up of GPs, ANPs, Practice Nurses, Pharmacists and HCAs and are looking forward to welcoming a new GP to our team.

We offer a competitive salary package in line with experience, along with the opportunity to work with a welcoming and supportive team looking to further your professional development. 6 sessions a week. Preferably Monday, Tuesday and Friday.

TRAINING & DEVELOPMENT

The Practice boasts strong connections with the University of Liverpool Medical School and local clinical training programmes. As a recognised training practice, we are committed to medical education and regularly host GP Trainees (ST1-ST3), Foundation Doctors (FY1/FY2), Medical Students. This provides an intellectually stimulating environment with opportunities for teaching and mentorship.

PRIMARY CARE NETWORK INVOLVEMENT

Job responsibilities

  • Provide a full range of medical services as defined in the core GP contract, additional and enhanced services where appropriate.
  • Provide other personal medical services to meet identified patients' needs.
  • Make professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems whether self-referred or referred from other healthcare professionals within the organisation.
  • Assess the healthcare needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems.
  • Screen patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness.
  • Develop care plans for health in consultation with patients and in line with current practice; disease management protocols, provide counselling and health education.
  • Work within current ICB policy for prescribing.

Person Specification

  • Eager to learn and grow in a healthcare environment.
  • Strong clinical skills with an evidence-based approach to patient care.
  • Proficient in using electronic health records and embracing new technologies.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Passionate about technology and improving healthcare outcomes.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and work independently.
  • Experience of working in a GP practice and Primary Care.

Qualifications

  • Be included in NHS England list of medical practitioners as per section 91 of the NHS Act 2006.
  • Hold full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) on the General Practitioner Register.
