FinTrU is looking for an experienced Principal Machine Learning Scientist to join our Data Science team on a permanent basis. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a team using AI/ML principles and practices, driving innovation and delivering actionable insights that support our business objectives. FinTrU is an award-winning RegTech/FinTech company, creating technology-enabled solutions for leading global financial institutions.
You should apply if you have:
- Minimum of 10 years in Data science/AI roles, with at least 5 years in a leadership position.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, and SQL.
- Experience with machine learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras) and libraries (e.g. scikit-learn, Theano), demonstrating technical capability to build, optimise, and deploy AI models.
- Strong aptitude for analysing complex data sets and derive actionable insights using advanced ML/AI techniques.
- Proven ability to lead, mentor, and inspire teams while fostering a culture of innovation, experimentation, and continuous improvement.
This is an opportunity to work on:
- Lead and mentor the Data Science team, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement by encouraging rapid experimentation and the development of proof of concepts (POCs).
- Collaborate with stakeholders to develop, prioritise and implement data science strategies and roadmap that align with business objectives.
- Oversee the design, development, and deployment of machine learning models and algorithms.
- Collaborate with Product Management and Engineering teams plus other departments to identify data-driven opportunities and solutions.
Please note this role is Hybrid working, the successful candidate will currently be required to be in the office 2 days per week. For this reason we are not considering fully remote applications, or those based beyond a reasonable commute to the office in Derry. This requisition is only for those resident, or seeking to be resident in Northern Ireland.
