If you’re a Legal Counsel looking to build broad in-house experience while working on complex finance transactions, this 12-month fixed-term opportunity offers genuine variety and the chance to develop your expertise across a specialist lending business. With the potential for the role to become permanent, you’ll join a highly regarded Legal and Compliance team where your contribution will have real commercial impact.

Working closely with experienced legal professionals, you’ll gain exposure beyond transactional work into commercial contracts, employment, property, corporate matters and data protection. This is an environment where legal is viewed as a trusted business partner, giving you the opportunity to influence decisions and continue developing your in-house career.

About the Company

You’ll be joining a well-established specialist asset-based lender with a collaborative culture and a highly visible Legal and Compliance function. The team works closely with stakeholders across the business, providing the opportunity to broaden your legal expertise in a commercial environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide legal support on invoice finance and asset finance transactions, including reviewing and negotiating transaction documentation.
  • Advise stakeholders on security structures, lending transactions and associated legal risk.
  • Review commercial contracts and support legal matters across the wider business, including recoveries and external adviser management.
  • Assist with transaction management to help ensure efficient completion of client facilities.

About You

  • Qualified solicitor with experience in banking and finance law gained in private practice or an in-house legal team.
  • Knowledge of lending transactions, ideally including invoice finance, asset finance or wider asset-based lending.
  • Experience reviewing and negotiating commercial legal documentation.
