If you’re an experienced Senior Account Handler looking for a role with more technical ownership and less transactional broking, this Leeds-based opportunity offers the chance to manage a varied specialist commercial motor portfolio, including motor trade, fleet and motorsport-related risks.
You’ll take ownership of renewals, policy placement, client servicing and insurer negotiations, working closely with Account Executives and a focused panel of specialist markets. Risks typically carry premiums at a minimum of £5k with an average of £16,000-£18,000, and larger cases sometimes exceeding £100,000, giving you exposure to genuinely varied and technically interesting business.
The role is well suited to someone who wants to deepen their specialist motor expertise within an established, close-knit team. Motorsport experience is not essential, with the business open to strong commercial motor, motor trade, fleet or wider commercial insurance experience. There may also be opportunities to engage with clients through relevant motorsport events.

- Salary £45,000-£50,000 per annum, depending on experience.

You’ll join an established insurance team focused on specialist commercial motor risks and long-term client relationships. Key Responsibilities
- Manage renewals, mid-term adjustments and day-to-day servicing across a specialist commercial motor portfolio.
- Negotiate with underwriters to secure appropriate cover and competitive terms across a focused insurer panel.
- Review client requirements and support renewal reports, market presentations, insurance registers and client meetings.
- Support Account Executives with renewal strategy, new-business activity and long-term client relationships.
- Provide appropriate technical insurance, risk-management and risk-prevention guidance.
- Maintain accurate Acturis records and ensure FCA, regulatory and internal compliance requirements are met.
About You
Experience as an Account Handler, Senior Account Handler, Commercial Broker or in a similar commercial insurance role. Strong commercial insurance experience, ideally including commercial motor, motor trade, fleet or specialist motor risks. Experience managing renewals, policy servicing, insurer negotiations and client requirements.
