An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a high-performing, well-established lending team within a growing UK challenger bank. This role offers genuine deal ownership, exposure to complex transactions and a clear pathway towards future progression into a Relationship Director position.
You'll be joining a team of highly regarded professionals with an exceptional track record, providing an outstanding environment to further develop your structuring, credit and transaction execution expertise.
The Opportunity
This is a transaction-focused role for an experienced lending professional who enjoys taking ownership of deals and driving them through the full lifecycle. Working closely with borrowers, advisers and internal stakeholders, you'll be responsible for structuring transactions, producing high-quality credit papers, presenting recommendations to Credit Committee and leading execution through to completion.
While relationship management and business development opportunities exist, the primary focus is on identifying, assessing, structuring and delivering well-crafted lending transactions. For individuals who already maintain an external network, there will be opportunities to leverage and develop those relationships, with origination activity becoming a greater part of the role as your career progresses.
Key Responsibilities
- Structure and assess lending opportunities across a diverse range of transactions
- Undertake detailed credit analysis and financial assessment
- Prepare high-quality credit papers and recommendations
- Present transactions to Credit Committee and respond to challenge effectively
- Lead deal execution through to completion
- Coordinate legal, credit, risk and operational stakeholders throughout the transaction process
- Build strong relationships with customers, introducers and professional advisers
- Maintain oversight of transactions from initial review through to drawdown
- Support the continued growth and success of a market-leading lending team
About You
We're keen to speak with candidates who have experience within:
- Real Estate Finance (REF)
- Trading businesses, particularly Healthcare and/or Hospitality sectors
- Structured lending, corporate banking or specialist finance environments, accountancy or similar
You'll likely possess:
- Strong credit writing and credit presentation skills
- Experience structuring and executing lending transactions
- The ability to present confidently to Credit Committee and senior stakeholders
- Excellent commercial judgement and risk awareness
- A proactive approach and desire to take ownership of deals
- Strong relationship-building and stakeholder management capabilities
