Are you a RICS Valuer who enjoys applying real commercial judgement? This is a rare opportunity to step into a newly created Internal Valuer role within a fast-growing, entrepreneurial property lender where valuation insight directly shapes lending decisions, deal structure and portfolio risk.

You’ll join an organisation with an exceptional leadership team, a genuinely collaborative culture, and outstanding internal engagement. People love working here because their opinions matter, their expertise is trusted, and they can see the direct impact of their work on the growth of the business.

As the business scales, this role is critical to supporting their growth objectives — and offers real scope to shape the function, develop your career, and broaden your exposure well beyond traditional valuation work.

Why this role is different

As an in-house valuer, you’ll sit at the heart of the Credit & Underwriting function, working alongside decision-makers to:

  • Influence how deals are structured
  • Advise on valuation risk, liquidity and security strength
  • Determine the most appropriate valuation approach (desktop, AVM, or external report)
  • Review and challenge external valuations
  • Provide commentary that directly informs Credit Committee decisions
  • Contribute to valuation policy and risk framework as the lender grows

You’ll be using your professional judgement daily in a way that most valuers rarely get the opportunity to do.

What you’ll be doing

Assessing new lending enquiries and credit proposals to determine valuation strategy

  • Applying RICS Red Book standards with independent professional judgement
  • Reviewing and challenging external valuation reports
  • Advising Underwriters and the Head of Credit on valuation risk and LTV appropriateness
  • Providing insight into market trends, asset liquidity and regional risks
  • Supporting portfolio management from a valuation and risk perspective
  • Helping develop and refine valuation policy as the business expands
Who this would suit

This role would suit:

  • MRICS qualified, or part-qualified with strong valuation experience
  • Valuers from residential or investment backgrounds
  • Individuals who enjoy the commercial side of property and want exposure to lending and deal structuring
  • Those working in consultancy who want to move closer to decision-making
  • Valuers from specialist lending, bridging, development finance, or credit environments
  • People who thrive in nimble, fast-paced, entrepreneurial businesses
What you’ll gain

Exposure to deal structuring and credit decisioning

  • The chance to shape a brand-new internal function
  • Direct access to an excellent leadership team
  • A collaborative, high-trust culture
  • Significant scope for career and personal development as the lender grows
  • A role where your expertise has visible impact every day

If you’re a valuer who wants to do more than produce reports and instead be at the centre of lending decisions in a business that’s going from strength to strength, this is an opportunity not to be missed.
