I’m working on a brand new mandate for a well-established UK commercial bank with a strong balance sheet and an excellent reputation across the UK commercial banking market.

The bank is part-way through a 5-year strategic growth plan to double the size of its lending book, underpinned by a genuine appetite to lend and a pragmatic, relationship-led credit approach.

This is a Liverpool / Merseyside / Cheshire-focused Relationship Director role, designed for a commercial banker who is well connected across the local professional and intermediary community.

The opportunity:

  • Relationship Director - Commercial Banking
  • Liverpool / Merseyside/ Cheshire coverage
  • Small, high-quality starter portfolio of existing clients and connections
  • Significant time, autonomy and internal resource available to support business development
  • Clear mandate to originate and structure new lending
  • Transaction appetite from Β£250K up to Β£15-20m, enabling support for sizeable businesses
  • Equally nimble for lower-value, relationship-led transactions
  • Strong appetite for lending into a variety of businesses

Ideal background:

  • Established relationships with accountants, corporate finance advisers, solicitors and commercial intermediaries
  • Strong local market knowledge across Liverpool, Merseyside and the wider North West
  • Track record of originating quality commercial lending through professional networks
  • Comfortable operating at RD level with autonomy and accountability

This role is ideal for a well-connected commercial banker who wants to leverage local relationships, professional introducers and a bank that actively wants to lend to grow a meaningful regional book.
