Business Development Manager - Asset Based Lending - London
Our client, an established specialist lender, is seeking a Business Development Manager to grow its Asset Based Lending offering, providing flexible working capital solutions to UK businesses.
This is an opportunity to originate and shape ABL transactions from £1m to £50m, develop long-term introducer partnerships and make a visible contribution to business growth. The role offers autonomy, exposure to senior stakeholders and support from experienced teams across the business.
The role
- Originate new ABL opportunities and deliver against new business targets.
- Build and develop relationships with corporate finance advisers, accountants, brokers and other professional introducers.
- Manage the full sales process, from initial enquiry through to onboarding.
- Prepare clear, accurate credit submissions and work closely with underwriting teams.
- Collaborate with Risk, Operations and Relationship Management to deliver a strong customer and introducer experience.
- Maintain awareness of market developments, competitor activity and relevant regulatory requirements.
About you
- A proven track record of originating ABL transactions within the £1m-£50m range.
- An established network across the corporate finance, accountancy and broker communities.
- Strong knowledge of ABL structures spanning receivables, inventory, plant and machinery, and property.
- Confident financial analysis skills, including interpreting accounts and forecasts.
- Strong communication, negotiation and pipeline management skills.
