We're recruiting for a Compliance Technical Consultant to join our helpdesk team and support SimplyBiz members from a compliance perspective to ensure they meet compliance standards regarding FCA regulations. This role is based in our Huddersfield office where we operate a hybrid working model, providing a balance of home and office working.
What you'll be doing
- Researching and investigating queries from our Member Firms and providing robust, prompt and complete answers.
- Maintaining knowledge of regulatory requirements, industry changes and relaying this to our members in a clear, easily understood manner.
- Assisting firms with the completion of RegData by advising them how to gather data, complete and cross validate the return.
- Reviewing and providing guidance and assistance to Member Firms in relation to financial promotions, disclosure documents and stationery.
- Assisting firms with general queries regarding the Authorisation and Agency processes.
What you need to succeed
- Relevant financial services qualifications (e.g. Level 4 Diploma).
- A good understanding of the UK financial services industry including directly authorised firms.
- A good working knowledge of financial products.
- Excellent customer support skills, combining customer service with technical support.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills including a good telephone manner and confident outbound calling skills.
- Strong administration and organisational skills, with the ability to plan and prioritise work to meet deadlines.
- Capable of quickly learning new information and explaining it to others.
- Collaborative problem solving, involving liaison with other internal departments.
- Ability to build relationships with both internal and external contacts.
- Open to obtaining additional qualifications up to Chartered status.
Nice to haves
- Tax and trust qualification or equivalent experience in dealing with queries of this nature.
- Discretionary fund management qualification or equivalent experience of dealing with queries of this nature.
