About the Company
FintechOS is the AI-fluent Unified Product Operations platform for financial services. We help institutions launch financial products — lending, deposits, origination, wealth — without ripping out the core. What used to take 9 to 12 months can now happen in weeks. The platform lifts product logic, pricing, and decisioning above your core, so business teams can move at speed while staying inside the regulatory guardrails. We work with leading global institutions and fast-moving challengers reshaping financial services. We’re scaling in the UK, and someone must make the platform real inside our customers’ environments — that’s this role.
About the Role
Forward Deployed Technical Consultants are the people we embed with our customers to turn a strategic intent into a working solution. Paired with a Forward Deployed Engineer, you sit alongside a customer’s teams, get to the bottom of what they’re really trying to achieve, and shape the solution on FintechOS that gets them there. This is a consultative role at its core — part strategist, part advisor, part hands-on solution designer. You’ll spend your time in the room with business and technical stakeholders, from operations leads to the C-suite, listening hard, building trust, and translating messy reality into a clear target operating model and process design. When it’s time to build, you shape the workflows and the solution on the platform and your paired engineer takes the deep technical build. You own the outcome, not just the artefacts.
Responsibilities
- Own the customer outcome — lead the engagement end-to-end, from first discovery through to a live solution, as the trusted functional owner your customer relies on.
- Run discovery and shape the solution — facilitate workshops, interview stakeholders, and map current- and future-state operating models and processes (BPMN style), then translate them into a solution that you configure on FintechOS.
- Be the trusted advisor — guide customers on how FintechOS modernises onboarding and origination, launches products faster, and runs a leaner operation, without a multi-year core replacement.
- Build hands-on at the process level — design and configure workflows and journeys on the platform yourself, pairing with your Forward Deployed Engineer for the deep technical build.
- Develop deep product expertise — know the platform comprehensively, and be the internal go-to for how it solves real customer problems.
- Be AI-native — bring AI into how you work and into the solutions you design, within the guardrails customers and regulators require.
- Close the loop with Product — act as the voice of the field back to product and engineering: what customers need, what’s landing, what isn’t.
What You’ll Do Day-to-Day
- Embed with a customer, on-site and remote, to understand their strategic objectives, operating model, constraints, and goals — then map those to what the platform can deliver.
- Facilitate discovery and design workshops, and turn what you hear into current- and future-state process maps and a clear solution blueprint.
- Take a use case from discovery to go-live — shaping the operating model, designing the workflows, and configuring the solution alongside your paired Forward Deployed Engineer.
- Navigate mixed rooms: win business teams with use cases, executives with outcomes, and technical leaders with a credible solution.
- Guide and enable the customer’s own people, so they can confidently run and grow what you’ve built together.
- Start narrow and expand — land the first use case cleanly, then help customers grow and extend from there.
- Partner with Presales on late-stage sales, solution design, and proofs of value, then carry the relationship into forward deployed delivery.
Qualifications
Must-haves:
- Consultative instinct — 7+ years in advisory, delivery, or solution consulting in financial services, where your value came from asking the right questions, earning trust, and guiding customers to the right answer.
- Presence with senior stakeholders — you can hold a room from operations to the C-suite, listen more than you talk, and make complex change feel achievable.
- Hands-on process and solution design — genuine comfort with BPMN, operating-model design, and workflow and product and pricing configuration. You can pick up a no code, low-code, AI native platform and shape a working solution yourself.
- Strong banking or financial services domain experience — you understand how institutions operate, how they buy, and the regulatory realities they live inside.
- Fluency in origination, lending, deposits, or wealth — enough to hold a credible conversation about workflows, decisioning, and cost-to-serve.
- Comfort spanning business and technical worlds — you lead the functional conversation and partner naturally with engineers on the deep build, without needing to be the coder in the room.
- Ownership and comfort with ambiguity — you see the opportunity, shape it, and drive it in problem spaces that aren’t fully defined, without waiting for permission.
Required Skills
You’ll Stand Out If You:
- Know the financial services world specifically — banking, insurance, and wealth.
- Have implemented low-code or composable platforms in regulated environments, or worked with platforms like Salesforce, MS Dynamics, Power Platform, nCino, or Temenos.
- Have run structured discovery, process re-engineering, or target-operating-model work as a consultant.
- Understand the shift from IT-led to business-led product development, and can articulate it coherently.
- Can position AI as business value, not tech theatre — and have brought governed AI into real customer solutions.
Location & Travel:
London is our preferred base, and we’d love to have you here. For an exceptional candidate, we’ll consider remote within the UK. Expect regular travel to customer sites for discovery, workshops, and go-lives — roughly 30 to 50% depending on delivery activity — plus occasional travel to our London HQ to connect with the wider team, if remote.
What You’ll Get:
- Impact: you’re joining early enough to shape how we deliver, what we build, and where we win.
- Growth: work alongside institutions like Société Générale and Admiral, and help open a new market.
- Autonomy: we trust you to see the opportunity and own it. No micromanagement, no bureaucracy.
- Team: smart, motivated people tackling one of the hardest problems in financial services.
- Diversity: we’re building a place where different perspectives, backgrounds, and ideas make us better.
Not For You If
- You need an established playbook — we’re still writing ours.
- You want a lot of structure and hand-holding — we need self-starters who thrive in ambiguity.
- You’re after a low-travel lifestyle role — this job needs presence in front of customers.
