Hi, we are FintechOS! We are the global leader in fintech enablement, with a mission to make fintech innovation available to every company. The FintechOS platform simplifies and accelerates the launching, servicing, and expansion of financial products and services, helping businesses recognize value up to ten times sooner than with other approaches. With FintechOS, financial institutions can get up and running with new financial solutions in as little as 12 weeks.

We are seeking a Technical Business Analyst with deep expertise in UK Mortgage and Commercial Lending to join our delivery team. In this role, you won’t just gather requirements; you will translate complex lending business logic into technical specifications that power the FintechOS platform.

The ideal candidate bridges the gap between the “what” (business needs) and the “how” (technical configuration), combining deep domain knowledge of originations and servicing with hands-on experience in API integrations, data modeling, and system architecture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Requirement Engineering & Technical Design
    • Lead Discovery Workshops: Drive sessions with clients to elicit functional and non-functional requirements specifically for mortgage originations, underwriting, and commercial lending workflows.
    • Technical Specifications: Translate business needs into detailed technical documentation, including User Stories, API definitions, Data Flow Diagrams, and Sequence Diagrams.
    • Gap Analysis: Conduct deep-dive analysis to determine how lending requirements map to FintechOS out-of-the-box capabilities versus where custom technical extensions or integrations are required.
    • Data Modeling: Define the data structures required for complex lending products (e.g., interest calculations, repayment schedules, and collateral management).
  • Solution Implementation & Delivery
    • Configuration & Prototyping: Use the FintechOS low-code/no-code tools to prototype solutions, configure business rules (affordability engines, KYC logic), and define UI/UX journeys for brokers and borrowers.
    • Integration Mapping: Define and document integrations with third-party ecosystem providers (e.g., credit bureaus, UK Land Registry, AML/KYC providers, and payment gateways).
    • Functional Guidance: Act as the primary point of contact for developers and QA engineers to clarify logic during the build phase, ensuring the final product matches the mortgage domain requirements.
    • UAT & Triage: Lead User Acceptance Testing (UAT) from a functional perspective and triage technical bugs or change requests, ensuring they are prioritized based on business impact.
  • Cross-Team Collaboration
    • Product Feedback: Distill project-specific mortgage requirements into generalized features to help the Product team improve the core FintechOS lending templates.
    • Stakeholder Management: Confidently explain technical constraints to business stakeholders and business logic to technical teams, ensuring alignment across the project lifecycle.

Requirements

  • Technical Expertise
    • API & Integration: Strong experience working with REST APIs, JSON, and Webhooks. Ability to use tools like Postman to validate data exchanges.
    • Architecture Knowledge: Solid understanding of service-oriented architecture (SOA) and how cloud-native platforms operate within a banking environment.
    • Data Savvy: Proficiency in SQL and experience in data mapping/migration for financial systems.
    • Technical Documentation: Proven ability to create high-quality technical specs, including documentation for event-driven architectures and security compliance.
  • Domain & Consulting Skills
    • Lending Expertise: Mandatory experience in the UK Mortgage or Commercial Lending sector. You must understand the end-to-end lifecycle: broker portals, DiP/AiP, full mortgage application (FMA), offer generation, and completion.
    • Commercial Lending: Familiarity with commercial loan structures, covenant monitoring, and complex entity onboarding is a significant plus.
    • Analytical Mindset: Ability to break down a “business wish” into a logical “if-this-then-that” technical flow.
    • Agile Proficiency: Extensive experience working in Scrum/Agile environments using Jira and Confluence.

What We’re Looking For

A detail-oriented Technical BA who loves the “nitty-gritty” of how a mortgage application moves through a system. You are someone who is equally comfortable talking to a Lead Architect about API authentication as you are talking to a Head of Lending about affordability ratios.
