Your role: Legal Counsel, Regulatory
Location: London
Your day-to-day:
- Acting as an advisor for regulatory matters impacting the business
- Advising on ongoing compliance with applicable, laws, regulations and guidance, including PSD2, EMD, MICA, outsourcing guidelines
- Horizon scanning to monitor changes to laws and regulations that may impact the business
- Engaging with industry bodies as required
- Preparing regulatory notifications and filings
- Delivering legal education for the business through bespoke training and raising awareness
- Supporting the wider legal team to provide efficient and effective legal support to the business
- Ad hoc legal and regulatory tasks.
The ideal candidate will have the following:
- UK qualified solicitor with 2-6 years post-qualification experience (gained either within private practice or in-house)
- Technical knowledge of UK and EEA payment services and e-money regulations
- Regulatory advice supporting company growth and delivery of strategic projects
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements relating to safeguarding, outsourcing, operational resilience, wind-down planning
- Advice on the regulatory perimeter
- Ability to explain complicated legal concepts in a way that is understandable to business stakeholders in both written and oral communications.
- Confident to manage own workload, coordinate with other members of the legal team, act independently, and seek out information required to deliver successful outcomes
- Effective communication skills and interpersonal skills
- Strong multitasking, prioritisation, and organisational skills
- Comfortable with a hybrid working environment
