FINTEC recruit is supporting recruitment for a Quantity Surveyor based in Cumbria. This is a permanent position with a salary of up to £75,000 plus car allowance and benefits. You will be working on projects within the commercial, industrial, and logistics sectors in the area. A driving licence is required as you will regularly visit customer sites within the region.
Responsibilities:
- Management of projects and sub-contractor packages
- Providing commercial support to project teams
- Overseeing all aspects of quantity surveying for various projects
- Providing accurate cost estimates and budget management
- Negotiating contracts and ensuring compliance with legal standards
- Collaborating with internal teams and external partners
- Preparing and presenting reports on project progress and financial status
- Conducting risk assessments and identifying cost-saving opportunities
- Involved in procurement, commercial management, and client liaison/follow through

Skills and Experience required for the Quantity Surveyor role:
- The role is primarily site-based and will provide commercial support to the project teams on all projects for which they are responsible
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor working for a Main Contractor
- Experience in commercial management
- Good knowledge of monthly reporting and earned value analysis
- Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor
- Strong knowledge of construction law and contract management
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Professional qualifications in Quantity Surveying (e.g., RICS or equivalent)
