FINTEC recruit is seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer for an international engineering business based in Renfrewshire. This is a permanent position, with salary up to £65,000 plus, working 37.5 hours per week, early finish on Fridays, plus benefits such as private medical care and contributory pension.
Experience of design for PLC systems is desirable with experience of the full lifecycle engineering for projects. Responsibilities include:
- Providing engineering design solutions and full life cycle engineering support
- Working with new product design, meeting client specifications and upgrades to existing equipment
- Preparing engineering documentation, such as specifications, proposals, and reports
- Supervisory/management experience in coaching/mentoring a small team
- Design and commissioning of HV and LV electrical systems with associated calculations
Skills and experience required for the Senior Electrical Design Engineer role:
- Proven electrical and electronics design skills
- Experience in design calculations and use of software tools such as CAD packages
- Knowledge of design standards
- Experience of control systems design using PLC
- Experience with PLC industrial automation network interfaces such as Profibus, CANbus, Ethernet, etc.
- Knowledge of DC systems would be an advantage and previous power distribution systems design is desirable
- Experience of design with HV and LV electrical systems
