FINTEC recruit is supporting recruitment in seeking an Engineering Sales Team Manager, working for an international business. This is a permanent position with a salary of up to £65,000 based in South Derbyshire. You will have both sales and team leadership qualities from working within an engineering/rail/manufacturing work environment.

Monday to Thursday: 08.00 am - 04.30 pm (30 minutes unpaid lunch break). Friday: 08.00 am - 01.30 pm (no lunch break).

Responsibilities:

  • Be the technical authority for customer projects, ensuring compliance.
  • Lead the project sales engineering team, delivering technically sound solutions & being cost-effective.
  • Supervise technical proposal development & lead on department management activities, including budgets, resources & staff development.
  • Engage and build strong relationships with customers, providing solutions.
  • Oversee project management functions, ensuring adherence to safety, quality, delivery and cost.
  • Support product and system improvements, including pre-studies and validation processes.
  • Ensure compliance in line with industry regulations and company policies.

Skills and Experience required for the Engineering Sales Team Manager role:

  • MSc degree in Engineering (preferably mechanical engineering).
  • 5+ years of relevant experience, with at least 3 years in the rail industry desirable.
  • Strong technical knowledge of rail products and project sales engineering.
  • Ability to lead and develop teams, ensuring high performance and collaboration.
  • Excellent communication & negotiation skills to manage customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Proven experience in project management, including budgeting and resource planning.
  • A customer-focused mindset with a problem-solving approach.
