FINTEC recruit is seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer for an international engineering business based in Renfrewshire. This is a permanent position, with a salary up to £65,000 plus, working 37.5 hours per week, early finish on Fridays, plus benefits such as private medical care and a contributory pension.

Responsibilities:

  • Providing engineering design solutions and full life cycle engineering support
  • Working with new product design, meeting client specifications and upgrades to existing equipment
  • Creating bill of materials, sourcing suitable components and materials
  • Preparing engineering documentation, such as specifications and proposals, reports
  • Checking detailed manufacturing drawings and documentation
  • Supervisory/management experience in coaching/mentoring a small team
  • Design and commissioning of HV and LV electrical systems with associated calculations

Skills and experience required for the Senior Electrical Design Engineer role:

  • Proven electrical and electronics design skills
  • Experience in design calculations and use of software tools such as CAD packages
  • Knowledge of design standards
  • Experience of control systems design using PLC
  • Experience with PLC industrial automation network interfaces such as Profibus, CANbus, Ethernet
  • Knowledge of DC systems would be an advantage and previous power distribution systems design desirable
  • Experience of design with HV and LV electrical systems
