An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Project Manager to join a leading marine and ship repair operation in Middlesbrough. We are looking for someone with a shipyard, marine, shipbuilding or heavy engineering background who can manage projects from start to finish, coordinate multidisciplinary teams and maintain strong commercial and operational control.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day delivery of ship repair projects.
  • Coordinate production teams, trades and subcontractors.
  • Manage resources, productivity, project costs and P&L.
  • Review technical specifications and manage project variations.
  • Evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations.
  • Lead project progress meetings and maintain strong customer relationships.
  • Carry out vessel and site inspections and promote high QHSE standards.
  • Ensure compliance with company procedures, maritime regulations and Classification Society requirements.

About You

  • Previous project management experience within ship repair, shipbuilding, marine or heavy engineering.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent organisational and communication abilities.
  • Commercially aware with experience managing project costs.
  • Ability to evaluate subcontractor/supplier quotations.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Technical qualification or time-served trade background preferred.

  • 39-hour working week: Monday–Thursday 07:00–15:30, Friday 07:00–14:30
  • 23 days' holiday + statutory bank holidays
