Experienced Vibration FEA Engineer required for a new position with our specialist engineering client based in Warrington. This is an exciting opportunity to join a small, highly productive team specialising in asset integrity monitoring, pipework vibration solutions, and advanced structural and machinery monitoring systems.
The role involves a combination of office-based engineering work and travel to client sites, including offshore and international assignments.
The RoleYou will be involved in the design, implementation, and assessment of vibration monitoring and mitigation solutions across a range of industrial environments. The position offers varied technical challenges with opportunities for offshore and international project work.
Key Responsibilities- Support asset integrity monitoring activities, including system design and configuration
- Conduct structural vibration assessments and pipework vibration analysis
- Design and implement vibration solutions using CAD, FEA, and specialist engineering software
- Carry out process pipework vibration assessments and site-based investigations
- Visit customer sites for hands-on engineering and assessment work
- Liaise with clients to define project requirements and prepare commercial proposals
- Produce technical documentation
- Perform data analysis, signal processing, and interpretation of engineering data
- Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
- Ideally 3–5+ years’ relevant industry experience
- Proficient in 3D CAD, particularly SolidWorks for structural engineering design
- Strong FEA experience using ANSYS
- Excellent understanding of vibration and dynamic behaviour of structures and machinery
- Strong knowledge of structural vibration assessment and problem-solving techniques
- Good understanding of metal fatigue and failure mechanisms
- Experience using instrumentation and data logging systems for measuring:
- Strain
- Vibration
- Displacement
- Pressure
- Temperature
- Knowledge of Modal Testing and Operating Deflection Shape (ODS) assessment techniques
- Experience in data analysis and signal processing
- Competent in installation and configuration of strain gauges
- Full UK driving licence
- Electrical engineering knowledge
- Experience with:
- HBM GlyphWorks
- MEScope software
- Motion Amplification techniques
- Online monitoring systems
- Experience programming data logging and HMI/PLC systems
- Previous offshore or industrial site experience
Travel to client sites, including international travel and offshore assignments, is required. Offshore trips may involve 1–2 weeks away from home depending on project requirements. All travel and accommodation expenses covered. Offshore medical and survival training will be arranged by the company.
