FINTEC recruit is seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer - hybrid working. Our client has offices in the North East, Midlands & Yorkshire (open to candidates across the UK). A permanent role with a salary up to circa £60,000 + benefits (negotiable by experience). Our client, a leading name in the utilities and engineering sector, is seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join their growing Design Department. You’ll play a key role in developing, monitoring, and maintaining a standardised approach to electrical design, ensuring consistency and quality across multiple projects. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer who enjoys technical design leadership, collaboration, and delivering innovative solutions across a range of utility and infrastructure projects.
Responsibilities:
- Undertake LV/HV electrical network design solutions for domestic housing, commercial and industrial developments.
- Obtain DNO/IDNO design approval for tailored design solutions including power distribution earthing.
- Prioritise workflows, ensure high quality network designs and projects are completed accurately and delivered on time.
- Liaise closely with utility infrastructure organisations & equipment manufacturers, working closely with stakeholders for projects.
- Engage with Gas and Water Designers to coordinate the delivery of multi-utility/domestic housing & commercial design projects.
- Support the Tendering Department and where required provide outline designs.
Skills and Experience required for the Senior Electrical Design Engineer role:
- Degree/HND qualified or equivalent.
- Incorporate Engineer or expected to achieve.
- Experience of designing/planning LV and HV (11kV/33kV) electrical utility network infrastructure.
- Understanding of UK power industry including technical standards DNO/IDNO network construction requirements.
- Knowledge of technical specifications of equipment, substations, cables, and plant.
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD software.
- Understanding of CDM Regulations and N.R.S.W.A.
- Understanding of ISO09001, ISO14001 & ISO018001.
