FINTEC recruit is supporting hiring for a distribution Electrical Engineer Team Lead (cable jointing) based in Harlow. This is an onsite based role reporting to the Site Manager based in Essex. Salary is up to Β£60,000 plus benefits.

Responsibilities:

  • Team lead working with a team of skilled operatives and engineers ensuring safe operations of the distribution network; attend team briefs and toolbox talks.
  • Identify project variations and notify site management, deliver work in accordance with industry regulations (NERS).
  • Undertake daily site risk assessments ensuring the site delivers safe and high quality works.
  • Perform LV jointing and terminations of LV and or HV electrical cables for underground distribution systems.
  • Install, repair and maintain electrical distribution equipment, including switchgear transformers and other electrical assets.
  • Carry out inspections and tests on electrical equipment and cables to identify & resolve faults.

Skills and Experience required:

  • Hold a EUSR SHEA (Power) card.
  • Proven experience as overhead linesperson, with a minimum of 2 years in the field.
  • Proficient in the jointing and termination of LV and or HV cables for underground systems.
  • Sound knowledge of electrical distribution systems, equipment, and components.
  • Permit to Work (if required) for Competent Person role.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams, blueprints, and technical manuals.
  • Relevant Electrical Engineering certification (i.e. 11Kv Jointing, Cable ID).
  • Hold, or previously held a UKPN authorisation for cable jointing at a particular voltage. (Desirable)
  • City and Guilds 2332 or similar (Desirable).
  • LV Linking and fusing (Desirable).
  • Demonstrated expertise in troubleshooting and diagnosing electrical faults. (Desirable)
