FINTEC recruit is seeking a Senior Electrical Project Engineer for an international engineering business based in Renfrewshire, Glasgow. This is a permanent position, with salary up to £65,000 plus depending on experience, working 37.5 hours per week, early finish on Fridays, plus benefits such as private medical care and contributory pension.
To provide engineering design solutions and through life engineering support to the company's product range. Workload can vary from new product design to meet client or internal specifications through to supporting an existing client’s request to upgrade or change equipment in the field. Hybrid & remote working options/flexible working available.
Responsibilities:
- Provide engineering design input to new systems and products and provide support to the existing product range.
- Liaise with internal departments such as sales, supply chain and production to ensure the best technical solution is provided.
- Creation of part numbers and bill of materials and sourcing suitable components and materials when required.
- Creation of engineering documentation such as specifications, proposals, assembly instructions, test procedures, certification and reports and checking detailed manufacturing drawings and documentation.
- Ensuring engineering solutions are provided on time and on budget and adhere to engineering and company standards and processes.
Skills and experience required for the Senior Electrical Project Engineer role:
- Proven electrical and electronics design skills.
- Skilled in generating design calculations.
- Experience programming with Structured Text (ST) and other IEC 61131-3 programming languages in CODESYS platform.
- Competent in the use of engineering design software tools / CAD packages.
- Knowledge of design standards.
- Previous product design experience.
- Design and commissioning of HV and LV electrical systems.
- Design of power distribution systems.
- Specification, selection, and management of traction battery systems up to capacity 150 kWh.
- Good knowledge of electrical systems design for EMC compliance.
- Demonstrated experience in an electrical engineer or product engineer role.
- Experience with Product Lifecycle Management system for generating and storage of engineering packages.
- Electrical and Electronics engineering degree or equivalent industry experience.
- Familiar with working to marine/defence standards and Classification Society rules desirable but not essential.
