We are working with a private equity backed global consumer goods business operating in a fast-paced FMCG environment. They are seeking an experienced Interim Senior Accounts Payable Lead to provide hands on leadership during a critical systems implementation period. This is a senior, operational role with full accountability for stabilising AP operations, protecting supplier relationships, and ensuring continuity of service while the permanent team transitions to a new system environment.

You will lead an established AP team, manage offshore resource, and take ownership of end to end payables performance across UK and international entities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own end to end Accounts Payable operations from invoice receipt through to payment
  • Lead and support the AP team through live system implementation and stabilisation
  • Manage offshore AP team ensuring performance, accuracy, and service levels
  • Review invoice processing, coding, approvals, and payment runs
  • Oversee supplier reconciliations and resolve escalated queries
  • Maintain strong control over aged payables and unallocated balances
  • Optimise workflows within Business Central and drive process improvements
  • Enhance supplier service levels during transition period
  • Ensure strong documentation, audit trail, and compliance with internal policies
  • Partner with Financial Control, Procurement, Supply Chain, and FP&A
  • Support audit requests relating to payables and working capital
  • Identify risks and implement corrective actions to ensure continuity of service
Requirements
  • Proven experience leading Accounts Payable teams in a complex environment
  • Strong hands on end to end AP knowledge
  • Experience managing offshore teams
  • Business Central experience essential
  • FMCG or consumer goods background essential
