This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced billings professional who enjoys leading a team, improving processes and ensuring customers receive accurate, transparent and timely billing. This role will play an important part in supporting the business across billing accuracy, energy data, tenant recharges, systems integrity and financial reconciliation. This is not just a standard billing role. The business needs someone who can understand the full billing lifecycle, manage data quality, resolve exceptions, support accurate customer charging and help improve the way billing processes operate across the portfolio.

Job Requirements

  • Lead the Billing Services team on a day to day basis across the business
  • Manage, support and develop the existing team
  • Oversee the full billing lifecycle, from customer onboarding through to invoicing, collections and reconciliation
  • Ensure customers receive accurate, transparent and timely billing
  • Manage meter data integrity and support accurate utilities and energy recharges
  • Review billing exceptions, resolve data issues and ensure billing outputs are accurate
  • Maintain the integrity of energy and billing platforms
  • Support the business with accurate reporting across billing, utilities and energy usage
  • Work closely with internal teams, customers and external suppliers
  • Support Direct Debit processes and ensure billing activity is well controlled
  • Reconcile billing information and support accurate financial reporting
  • Help strengthen billing processes, controls and ways of working
  • Identify process gaps and implement practical improvements
  • Support the wider energy strategy and the business goal of becoming net zero carbon
  • Ensure deadlines are met and competing priorities are managed effectively
  • Champion accuracy, service quality and operational excellence across the team

Key Person Requirements

  • Experience as Billings Manager within property, utilities, energy, real estate or a tenant billing environment would be highly preferred
  • Strong billing, invoicing, reconciliation or revenue operations experience
  • Ability to analyse utilities, energy or meter data accurately
  • Strong numeracy skills and excellent attention to detail
  • Experience recharging tenants or customers accurately would be highly beneficial
  • Confident working with billing systems, property systems or energy platforms
  • Experience with TEAM Sigma or Qube would be desirable
  • Strong Excel skills and confidence working with data
  • Experience or understanding of Direct Debit processes
  • Proven experience managing, supporting or developing a team
  • Strong relationship building skills across internal teams and external suppliers
  • Able to resolve billing queries, data exceptions and process issues in a calm and practical way
  • Highly organised, deadline focused and able to manage multiple priorities
  • Process minded, with the ability to improve reporting, controls and ways of working
  • Hands on, accurate and comfortable getting into the detail
  • Collaborative, customer focused and confident working in a busy operational environment
