Our client is a leading property management business with a commercial portfolio. They are seeking an experienced Client Accountant to join their growing finance team. The role requires strong property accounting experience across both retail and commercial assets. You will take ownership of the financial management and reporting of client property portfolios, including rent and service charge accounting, budgets, forecasts, and operational cost control. The position plays a key role in delivering accurate client reporting, strong financial controls, and compliance across the portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver accurate client reporting, including standard and client specific reports, ensuring all SLAs and KPIs are met
- Reconcile service charge income and expenditure across residential and commercial assets
- Act as first point of contact for client finance queries, providing clear support and guidance
- Work closely with Surveying and internal teams to ensure all client deliverables are achieved
- Maintain and oversee property and lease data within financial systems
- Manage client and property cash flow and funding requirements
- Lead annual service charge reviews in collaboration with Asset Managers and Service Charge teams
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, procedures, and best practice guidelines
- Attend client and internal meetings as required
- Instruct Treasury on collections, payments, account amendments, and tenant refunds following approvals
- Support ad hoc finance tasks as required
Key Skills and Requirements - Client Accountant
- Previous experience in a similar Client Accountant or property finance role - commercial only
- Financial and technical reporting experience within a client facing environment
- Part Qualified (ACCA) or Qualified by Experience
- Property transactional accounting experience is highly desirable
- Advanced Excel capability
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Ability to engage confidently with clients and stakeholders at all levels
- Positive mindset with a willingness to learn and develop
- High ethical standards with strong personal integrity
