About the Company

We are proud to be partnering with an established and growing hospitality group with a strong reputation for quality, innovation and customer experience.

With a diverse portfolio of businesses, a complex multi entity structure and continued growth across the UK and internationally, the organisation is strengthening its senior finance leadership.

They are now looking to appoint a Finance Director to take senior ownership of financial control, reporting, governance and finance infrastructure across the Group.

This is a technically led role for someone with the experience and judgement to operate effectively across a complex, fast moving and entrepreneurial organisation, while working closely with an experienced senior leadership team as a senior finance voice within the business.

Job Requirements

As a Finance Director, you will:

  • Take senior ownership of Group financial reporting and consolidation across a complex multi entity structure
  • Ensure accurate and timely delivery of the Group P&L, balance sheet and cash flow, with strong oversight of the underlying financial control environment
  • Maintain a clean and well governed balance sheet across all entities, ensuring reconciliations, intercompany balances and key accounting schedules are appropriately controlled
  • Own Group accounting policy and provide senior technical judgement across complex accounting matters
  • Lead the Group statutory audit process from planning through to completion, ensuring accounts are delivered accurately and on time
  • Take ownership of the Group tax position, working closely with external advisers across corporate tax, VAT, employment taxes and international requirements
  • Ensure strong financial governance, controls and compliance are maintained across all entities and jurisdictions
  • Oversee Group treasury, liquidity and cash management, ensuring appropriate visibility over working capital and funding requirements
  • Maintain oversight of intercompany funding, banking structures, payment controls and cash movements across the Group
  • Support the financial infrastructure required for continued international expansion, including new entities, multi currency reporting, tax, audit, banking and financial controls
  • Ensure appropriate finance processes and controls are established as new territories and operations are launched
  • Maintain oversight of Group structure and statutory governance, including incorporations, intercompany arrangements and entity management
  • Work closely with senior leadership to ensure financial risks are clearly understood and appropriately managed
  • Provide constructive challenge and technical guidance to senior stakeholders where required
  • Lead and develop senior members of the finance team, setting clear standards around financial control, reporting and accountability
  • Manage key external finance relationships including auditors, tax advisers, banks and other professional partners
  • Drive continuous improvement across financial reporting, controls, systems, processes and data quality
  • Ensure the finance environment continues to scale effectively alongside the growth and increasing complexity of the organisation

Key Person Requirements

  • A qualified accountant, ACA, ACCA or CIMA, with significant post qualified experience operating within technically strong finance environments
  • Currently operating as a Finance Director, Group Financial Controller, Director of Finance or in a comparable senior finance leadership position
  • Demonstrable experience leading financial control, Group consolidation, financial reporting and balance sheet governance across complex multi entity and multi site organisations
  • Experience within hospitality, retail, leisure, consumer or another operationally complex environment
  • Demonstrable ownership of statutory audit, financial controls and year end reporting
  • Strong understanding of corporate tax, VAT and broader financial compliance, with the ability to effectively manage and challenge external advisers
  • Hands on experience of treasury, cash management, intercompany and Group structures
  • Experience operating within an international or multi currency environment
  • Technically strong and control minded, with the ability to remain close to the detail while operating at senior leadership level
  • Confident managing senior stakeholders and able to provide credible challenge in a fast moving and entrepreneurial environment
  • Strong leadership capability, with experience developing high performing finance teams and raising standards across a function
  • Pragmatic, resilient and delivery focused, with the ability to introduce rigour and structure without unnecessarily slowing the pace of the business

If you are looking for a broad and highly visible Finance Director role where you can take ownership of financial control across a complex, growing and increasingly international business, while working closely with an experienced senior leadership team, we would love to hear from you.

Please submit your CV for immediate consideration.
