We have an exciting opportunity for a Multi Skilled Engineer to join our Engineering team at our Fletchers Bakeries site as part of Finsbury Food Group. Our Fletchers bakery has over 125 years of baking tradition, with our Kara bakery supplying delicious wholesale bakery products for over 35 years. The Multi Skilled Engineer is an onsite fast-paced role that will be responsible for working as an active part of our cross-functional maintenance team.
You will be required to have excellent electrical and mechanical engineering skills along with strong organisational skills to successfully function our site CMMS system. You will work within our Engineering department and will have a thorough and detailed approach to maintenance work with a proven track record of fault finding. To be successful in this role, you will have good communication skills being able to mentor and coach other engineers and production operators.
You will actively participate within the continuous improvement culture, identifying opportunities to improve efficiencies and reduce site waste and maintenance spends.
This is what you’ll actually do! As a Multi-Skilled Engineer, you will be responsible for both reactive and planned maintenance across a range of production equipment and utilities, ensuring minimal downtime and efficient line performance. You will take ownership of site breakdowns, carrying out rapid diagnosis and implementing effective corrective actions. You will actively use the CMMS system to produce accurate and detailed reports, while consistently maintaining high standards of Health and Safety, Food Safety, and Hygiene, in line with best working practices.
Working as part of a team, you will ensure all planned maintenance is completed to a strict schedule, while continuously seeking opportunities to improve equipment reliability and support site efficiency targets. This role offers strong opportunities for learning and development, with active involvement in ongoing and future project work.

- Be a time served apprentice or have an NVQ Level 3 equivalent
- Skills within both Electrical and Mechanical Engineering
- CompEx training would be beneficial
- Excellent attention to detail
- Have previous experience in fault finding
- PLC proven programming capability
- Have the skills to be able to mentor and coach other Engineers
- Keen to play an active role in the future development of the site and engineering function
- Previous food manufacturing experience would be beneficial
