This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to develop their career with one of the UK's leading speciality bakery businesses.

To succeed in this role, you'll be a qualified Multi‑Skilled Engineer with experience within a fast‑paced manufacturing environment. Experience within food manufacturing would be highly advantageous. If you're looking for your next challenge and enjoy solving problems, driving improvements, and making a real impact, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.

This is what you’ll actually do! As a Multi‑Skilled Engineer, you'll be responsible for maintaining a wide range of production equipment and site services, ensuring the bakery continues to operate safely, efficiently, and reliably. You’ll carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM), respond to breakdowns, complete corrective maintenance activities and support installation and improvement projects across the site. Working both independently and collaboratively, you’ll diagnose faults, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions to minimise disruption to production.

A key part of the role will be supporting the bakery’s performance by reducing downtime and improving equipment reliability. You’ll use your technical expertise and problem‑solving skills to quickly respond to issues while contributing to longer‑term continuous improvement initiatives. You’ll be responsible for accurately recording maintenance activities through our Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS), ensuring work orders, materials and labour are captured correctly. You’ll also support the development of maintenance standards, equipment performance monitoring and engineering best practice across the site. Working closely with Operations and Technical teams, you’ll help drive a proactive maintenance culture, ensuring equipment operates safely and efficiently while supporting the site’s ambitious growth plans.

Success in this role will be measured through:

  • Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) completion.
  • Work order completion and quality.
  • Equipment reliability and downtime reduction.
  • Health & Safety compliance.
  • Effective root cause analysis and problem resolution.

As a 24/7 manufacturing operation, flexibility and a proactive approach are essential. You’ll play an important role in supporting emergency maintenance requirements while continually looking for opportunities to improve performance, reliability, and efficiency.

  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Self‑motivated with a proactive approach to maintenance and continuous improvement.
