We are looking for Multi‑Skilled Production Operatives to join our team at Ultrapharm, part of the Finsbury Food Group, to support our safe, high‑quality, and efficient food production operation. Ultrapharm is a dedicated gluten‑free bakery, specialising exclusively in gluten‑free products since 1993. Our craft‑led approach creates premium products with the flavour and texture of traditional bakery goods, supplying major UK retailers including Marks & Spencer and Waitrose.
This is a hands‑on, varied role where you’ll work across multiple production lines, operate machinery, and play a key role in maintaining our hygiene, safety, and quality standards. It’s an excellent opportunity to develop new skills, become multi‑skilled, and grow within a supportive manufacturing environment.
This is what you’ll actually do! As a Multi‑Skilled Production Operative, you’ll support day‑to‑day production across the site, moving between lines and tasks to meet operational needs. You’ll safely operate machinery, follow production plans, and ensure all work is completed to the highest quality and food safety standards. You’ll take responsibility for completing production and compliance paperwork accurately, maintaining a clean and safe working environment through a strong clean‑as‑you‑go approach, and supporting end‑of‑shift and deep‑cleaning activities. You’ll wear the correct PPE at all times, follow health, safety, hygiene, and allergen controls, and report any issues or hazards promptly. You’ll also take part in training and cross‑skilling, support colleagues by sharing knowledge, and provide ASH cover by stepping up or down a level when required to keep the operation running smoothly.
To be successful in this role, you will be a reliable and flexible team player who thrives in a fast‑paced production environment. You’ll have a strong passion for quality, hygiene, and food safety, and take pride in doing things right first time. You’ll be willing to learn, adapt, and take on new challenges with a positive mindset, while feeling comfortable working across teams and supporting others to achieve shared goals.
Ideally this is you!
- Experience in food production or manufacturing (preferred but not essential)
- Confident operating machinery and completing operational paperwork
- Good understanding of health, safety, and hygiene standards
- willing to become multi‑skilled through structured training
- Competent in (or willing to train in) at least two specialist skill areas
- Positive, dependable, and adaptable
- Proud of high standards in cleanliness and quality
- Approachable, proactive, and committed to continuous improvement
What’s in it for you?
- Enhanced Maternity & Paternity Leave to allow quality time with your new arrival!
- Enhanced Pension Scheme for our employees
- Free Employee Assistance Programme (open to colleagues and their families)
- Retail discounts accessible via our Benefits Hub platform!
- Refer a Friend Scheme (up to £300 per referral – T&C’s dependent)
- Employee Recognition Awards
- Extensive Learning & Development opportunities (including opportunities for sponsored professional memberships and our own in‑house development course!)
- An opportunity to be part of a fantastic, growing organisation.
