We have an opportunity for a Reliability Engineer to join our Engineering Team on our Pontypool site as part of the Finsbury Food Group. Finsbury Food Group is a leading specialty bakery manufacturer, constantly raising quality and efficiency standards and building long-term relationships within the food service channel. Ultrapharm is a dedicated Gluten Free Bakery specialising in only Gluten Free products since 1993.

This is what you’ll actually do!
- Lead and inspire a small team of engineers and technical operatives, creating a culture that puts safety, reliability and performance first.
- Ensure maintenance activity is prioritised and delivered effectively — reducing downtime, improving equipment reliability and keeping operations running smoothly.
- Take ownership of analysing top operational losses, using Root Cause Analysis and A3 problem-solving to identify practical, sustainable solutions.
- Implement reliability improvement initiatives that make a measurable difference on site.
- Support the deployment of TPM and Autonomous Maintenance, helping to embed standards and develop capability within the team.
- Coach and grow your people — building skills, engagement and accountability so they can perform at their best.
- Support the standardisation and continuous improvement of engineering processes, contribute to capital and automation projects locally, and collaborate with wider FFG Engineering colleagues to share best practice.
- Step in to deputise for the Site Engineering Lead when required — providing confident, capable leadership and continuity across the function.
Ideally this is you!
- Experienced in engineering maintenance or reliability within FMCG/food manufacturing.
- Knowledgeable in TPM, Asset Care, and Root Cause Analysis principles.
- Skilled in team coaching and development.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and IT skills (MS Office; PowerBI desirable).
- Excellent communicator with confidence to share updates with teams and management.
- Degree in Engineering or relevant technical qualification desirable.
- Proactive, collaborative, and able to manage multiple initiatives effectively.
- Committed to safe working practices, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
