We have an opportunity for a Reliability Engineer to join our Engineering Team at Lees of Scotland which forms part of our Scottish Cluster. You may know us from our Snowballs, Teacakes, or Meringues, as we have been manufacturing confectionery and meringues since 1931 to major retailers across the UK. We employ 250 people at our modern 80,000 square ft factory which is located just outside of Glasgow and is easily accessible by public transport.

This is what you will actually do!

  • Management of Engineering resources to deliver asset reliability through effective development of Planned Preventative Maintenance activity, breakdown review and action using lean tools and the application of best practice techniques to constantly improve performance of operational assets.
  • Affective planning and scheduling of preventative maintenance activities for delivery through Manufacturing Technicians.
  • Reporting to the Engineering Maintenance Manager, the Engineering Reliability Lead must be able to collaborate with production, planning and Engineering peers in order to support optimum maintenance delivery.
  • Effective management of week-ahead planned preventative maintenance schedules to maximise reliability.
  • Develop ‘Line Plans’ identifying key areas of ‘downtime’ and remedial actions necessary to negate re-occurrence.
  • Be instrumental in the effective use of Manpower in relation to Planned Preventive Maintenance Scheduling and unplanned equipment failures.
  • Strive to forge strong bonds with operations, becoming more aligned and customer orientated as a result.
  • Effective review of day-to-day delivery to ensure that plans are delivered and where necessary, alterations made in order to ensure delivery of maintenance activities.
  • Ensuring use of the Company CMMS (Mainsaver) to establish performance baseline and monitoring of critical assets and adopt a proactive approach to resolving issues and improving plant throughput on a daily basis.
  • Use of Data to identify continuous improvement opportunities and involvement in CI projects.
  • Management of Direct Reports driving efficient and effective delivery of their roles as well as ensuring skills and competence are current and relevant to the roles as well as ensuring development as part of succession planning.
  • Support the Management of the Maintenance budget through the adoption of a ‘Value for money’ approach to Cost Centre Management.
  • Ensure the Effective Management of spare parts and consumables for the site, minimizing stock holding without compromising the ability to react to critical asset breakdowns.
  • Provide SME support to Maintenance Supervisors and Technicians.
