We have an opportunity for an experienced Multi Skilled Engineer within our Engineering Team who would be based at our Fletchers Bakery in Sheffield, which forms part of our Northern Cluster. Our Fletchers bakery has over 125 years of baking tradition, with our Kara bakery supplying delicious wholesale bakery products for over 35 years starting with the first floured bap. Both have been part of the Finsbury Food Group since 2014. Fletchers Bakery can trace its roots back to 1895 and both bakeries portfolio of products have risen to include gourmet brioche, traditional sliced bread, bloomer breads and vegan and gluten free options, to name a few.
The Multi Skilled Engineer’s key focus will be to carry out planned maintenance work and repairs to production plant, equipment and buildings, ensuring safety and reliability of the production process.
The successful candidate will have worked in a similar engineering position within a fast-paced environment. This role requires excellent timekeeping skills, attention to detail and flexibility, and the ability to form strong working relationships across the business.
What you’ll actually do
As the Multi Skilled Engineer you will continuously develop your knowledge of the engineering requirements of the bakery process systems and machinery. You will work as an active part of a skilled cross functional planned maintenance team. You will ensure correct Health & Safety, Food Safety and Hygiene standards are adhered to at all times, whilst ensuring a fast and effective response especially under breakdown conditions. You will diagnose faults and take corrective action where necessary. You will also assist and support mechanical & electrical engineers with their duties. You will actively participate in a Continuous Improvement culture, identifying opportunities to improve efficiencies and reduce waste. You will participate in and support the site Operating Brilliance Process (OBP) and contribute to cross functional objectives if required. You will assist in training fellow maintenance engineers, Operator-Technicians and others where necessary. You will ensure planned maintenance work is completed to strict schedules and look for improvements that will enhance equipment reliability and good working practices. You will work on various projects including installation and modifications to plant and equipment.
