We have a new opportunity for a Warehouse Shift Lead (WSL) within our Warehouse team in the East Kilbride site as part of the Finsbury Food Group. Finsbury Food Group is a leading specialty bakery manufacturer. We constantly raise quality and efficiency standards and build long‑term relationships within the foodservice channel. Finsbury offers a wide range of bakery products and is a leading frozen supplier into the Foodservice sector.
To be successful in this role, you will lead, motivate and develop warehouse and logistics teams to achieve operational KPIs while ensuring full compliance with Health & Safety, food safety (BRC/HACCP), GMP, and security standards. You will manage all warehouse processes efficiently—from inbound through dispatch—maintaining strong inventory accuracy and operational control. You will also drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimise efficiency and reduce waste, communicating effectively with internal teams and serving as the key escalation point for operational issues on site.
Responsibilities
- Own and drive the operational performance of the warehouse and on‑site logistics.
- Provide leadership, strategic direction, and accountability for people, processes and results.
- Ensure safe, compliant and efficient operations across all functions—including inbound, storage, picking, packing, dispatch, inventory and workplace standards.
- Deliver on key metrics (Safety, Quality, Service, Cost, People and Sustainability), acting as the senior operational leader on site.
- Champion continuous improvement and uphold high standards of operational excellence at all times.
- Take full accountability for warehouse and logistics operations across all shifts, leading staffing, rota planning, performance management, coaching and succession development.
- Ensure strict compliance with SOPs, audits and regulatory standards, while identifying process bottlenecks and implementing improvements that optimise performance.
- Work closely with Quality, Technical, Supply Chain and Engineering teams to help maintain seamless end‑to‑end operations.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and champion a strong, safety‑first culture across the site.
Qualifications
- Experienced in warehouse or logistics operations, ideally in FMCG or food distribution.
- Strong knowledge of inventory management systems (WMS), transport planning and operational KPIs.
- Experienced in managing multi‑disciplinary teams and delivering site‑wide operational performance.
- Competent in MS Office, ERP systems and data‑driven decision‑making.
- Knowledgeable in Health & Safety, food safety and GMP compliance.
- Skilled in continuous improvement, Lean, CI or Six Sigma methodologies.
- Values‑driven, visible leader with excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Flexible, resilient and able to thrive in a fast‑paced operational environment.
