We have an exciting opportunity for a Reliability Engineer to join our Engineering Team at Memory Lane Cakes. Finsbury Food Group is a leading speciality bakery manufacturer. We constantly raise quality and efficiency standards and build long-term relationships within the food service channel. Finsbury offers a wide range of bakery products and is a leading frozen supplier in the Foodservice sector.
This is a strategic role ensuring all plant and equipment is reliable, compliant, and aligned with operational needs. You will lead asset care programmes, reduce downtime, optimise lifecycle costs, and drive continuous improvement across the site.
This is what you’ll actually do!
- You’ll work within a team of reliability engineers creating a culture that puts safety, reliability and performance first. Day to day, you’ll make sure maintenance activity is prioritised and delivered effectively. Reducing downtime, improving equipment reliability and keeping operations running smoothly.
- You’ll take ownership of analysing top operational losses, using Root Cause Analysis and A3 problem-solving to identify practical solutions implementing reliability improvement initiatives that make a measurable difference on site. Creating sustainable solutions through evolving and developing cross-functional processes, procedures and updating PPMS and all associated engineering documentation.
- A key part of your role will be supporting the deployment of TPM and Autonomous Maintenance, helping to embed standards and develop capability within the team. You’ll build skills, engagement and accountability to ensure you and the team perform at their best.
- You’ll also support the standardisation and continuous improvement of engineering processes, contribute to capital and automation projects locally, and collaborate with wider FFG Engineering colleagues to share best practice.
Ideally this is you!
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a reliability or maintenance engineering role, ideally FMCG or bakery
- Strong multi-skilled engineer with proven track record driving continuous improvements.
- Previously working within a team driving performance, operational improvements and ensuring delivery against business objectives.
- Skilled in RCA, RCM, FMEA, OEE analysis, and predictive maintenance
- Familiarity with CMMS systems and maintenance scheduling tools
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and organisational skills
- Strong communication and leadership skills, confident presenting across all levels of the business
- Degree/HND in Mechanical, Electrical, Control & Automation, or Reliability Engineering (or equivalent)
- Strong knowledge of PUWER regulations and engineering compliance
