Our client is a high-growth, PE-backed renewables business playing a key role in accelerating the UK’s transition to cleaner energy. With multiple long-term commercial contracts secured, the business is scaling fast. This fixed-term maternity cover offers a rare opportunity to embed sharper financial control and reporting during a critical growth phase, ideal for someone confident, capable, and hands-on.

The Financial Controller will oversee technical accounting, compliance, and financial control across a multi-entity, asset-heavy group. In this hands-on 9‑month role, you’ll ensure continuity, maintain high-quality reporting, and drive control improvements supporting the business through a busy period of growth and change.

The Financial Controller will:

  • Own monthly management accounts and tighten the month-end close cycle
  • Prepare statutory accounts under FRS 102 and coordinate year-end audits
  • Oversee corporate tax filings and liaise with external advisers
  • Ensure accuracy of intercompany reconciliations and group reporting
  • Strengthen internal controls and support finance system improvements

You Will Need:

  • ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualification and strong hands-on technical accounting skills
  • Proven experience across statutory reporting, tax, and intercompany balances
  • Confidence working independently in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
  • A proactive mindset; someone who can spot issues and take ownership quickly
  • Full right to work in the UK (no sponsorship available)
