Our client is a growth energy business seeking a hands-on Finance Manager on a temp-to-perm contract to support post-acquisition integrations and strengthen financial control across the group. The role is evenly split across management accounts, statutory reporting under FRS102, reporting and tax, and will suit someone confident working with large volumes of complex transactional data in a fast-paced environment.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead the month-end close process and produce timely, accurate management accounts with supporting schedules and reconciliations.
  • Maintain robust balance sheet control through ownership of key reconciliations, including bank, accruals and prepayments, payroll, VAT, intercompany, and fixed assets.
  • Prepare statutory accounts under FRS102 and provide audit-ready working papers and supporting documentation.
  • Oversee UK tax compliance, including VAT returns, corporation tax computations, and capital allowances, liaising with external advisers as required.
  • Manage intercompany accounting across the group, including postings, reconciliations, and settlement of balances.
  • Oversee fixed asset accounting, capitalisation, and depreciation, including assets acquired through acquisition.
  • Review and post month-end journals, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and appropriate supporting evidence.
  • Support AP and AR processes where required, ensuring timely posting, accurate coding, and resolution of queries.

About you

  • Strong hands-on experience producing management and statutory accounts in a fast-paced, multi-entity environment.
  • Proven track record of owning month-end close, balance sheet reconciliations, and transactional control.
  • Comfortable working with high volumes of complex data, particularly during periods of change or integration.
  • Solid UK tax and compliance knowledge, with strong Excel skills and experience working across accounting systems.
