The predicted salary is between 43200 - 72000 £ per year.
Our client is a growth stage retail and apparel brand with a distinct British identity, with sales across UK & US.
They have grown organically and via strategic collaborations, and are looking for a financial controller to support their continued growth. This will be a hands on and heavily influential role that will cover key areas including: report building to provide strategic insights, financial controls, general financial administration and bookkeeping duties, and managing the external accountant relationships.
This will be the first hire into finance and work closely with senior management.
Key responsibilities:
Report building:
- Annual Budget Development: Work with the leadership team to develop the annual budget for sales and margins.
- P&L Build & Management: Build and maintain the company’s Profit & Loss statement, tracking spend versus budget across various areas such as sampling, couriers, travel, etc.
- Stock Management: Provide real-time data on stock spend, stock holding, stock in transit, and stock on order, ensuring clarity on all current and future payables related to inventory.
Accounts management:
- To include accounts payable/receivable, managing relationships with external suppliers,
- Payroll, VAT returns and all companies house filings.
- Managing relationship with external accountants, who currently prepare management accounts and provide financial modelling. Liaise with accountants on cash flow management, liquidity, and financial projections.
Qualification and skills:
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA). Candidates who are 'qualified by experience' will also be considered.
- Experience in a retail and apparel environment is essential.
- Strong working knowledge of working with stock and inventory.
- Experience in working in an entrepreneurial environment.
