We are partnering with a high-growth, international business operating in a complex and fast-moving market to appoint an ambitious Financial Controller into a broad, high-impact role. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong, commercially minded qualified accountant who enjoys ownership, visibility, and working closely with senior stakeholders in a business where finance plays a genuine role in strategic decision-making. The position offers responsibility across core finance, reporting, controls, planning, and commercial performance, while leading a small team and helping shape a scalable best-in-class finance function.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting under UK GAAP / IFRS
- Own month-end close, reconciliations, accruals, controls, and balance sheet integrity
- Deliver management accounts, budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis
- Partner with senior leadership to support commercial and operational decisions
- Improve processes, reporting capability, and finance workflows
- Mentor and develop a small finance team
Candidate Profile
- Qualified ACA / ACCA / CIMA
- Strong financial control and management accounting experience
- Trained within practice environment preferred (Big 4 / Top 10 highly regarded), followed by relevant industry experience
- Strong Excel skills and confident handling large / complex datasets
- Commercial mindset with strong communication skills
- Experience in utilities, commodities, energy, infrastructure, or other dynamic asset-backed sectors advantageous
- The right to work in the UK (No sponsorship provided)
