About the Role:
As a Senior Business Systems Analyst (BSA) Lead within Finova’s MSO team, you will lead the end-to-end design, analysis, and delivery of functional solutions for complex mortgage origination platforms. Reporting directly to the Director of Technical Delivery, you will sit at the intersection of product, engineering, and client engagement working across multiple concurrent agile delivery squads. Your core purpose is to translate high-level product requirements and client change requests into rock-solid technical specifications, process models, and data flows, while providing line management and mentorship to elevate the analytical standards of the broader BSA cohort.
About you:
- Financial Services & Lending Expertise: Proven track record as a Senior Business Systems Analyst ideally in a financial services, fintech, or regulated environments.
- Technical & Integration Proficiency: Hands-on experience with SQL, relational databases, XML, and JSON/YAML data structures, combined with a practical understanding of RESTful API specifications, system integration patterns, and cloud-based architecture.
- Analytical Deliverables & Methodologies: Master of the full SDLC, skilled in process mapping, data modeling, use case creation, and defining precise acceptance criteria/test strategies within Scrum and Kanban frameworks.
- Leadership & Team Development: Direct experience in line management (conducting 1:1s, performance reviews, development plans) or formal mentoring, with a passion for coaching BSAs and driving analytical best practices.
- Stakeholder Management & Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, able to articulate complex system concepts to both technical teams and senior non-technical executives, as well as lead direct client engagements on solution quality.
- Problem-Solving & Modern Tooling: Structured, adaptable problem solver comfortable navigating ambiguity and adept at leveraging AI and automation tools to increase analytical speed and accuracy.
What will you be doing?
- Lead End-to-End Solution Architecture: Design and document detailed specifications, data flows, and process models for complex mortgage origination features, ensuring technical solutions align with business needs, regulatory standards, and Finova’s architectural principles.
- Cross-Squad Collaboration & Alignment: Partner closely with Product Managers, Engineering Leads, and Technical Delivery Managers across multiple concurrent delivery squads to manage dependencies, refine backlogs, and ensure seamless delivery execution.
- Direct Line Management & Mentorship: Line manage BSAs within the MSO team—leading 1:1s, performance reviews, and career pathing—while setting practice standards and upskilling the wider BSA community.
- Client Engagement & Stakeholder Influence: Act as a trusted technical advisor in direct client discussions, validating change requests, communicating complex solution designs, and ensuring quality expectations are met.
- Incident Management & Continuous Improvement: Participate actively in agile ceremonies, lead post-incident reviews for complex delivery issues, and optimise existing system capabilities to enhance performance and usability.
- Regulatory Compliance & Modernization: Ensure all functional deliverables adhere to financial compliance and audit-readiness standards, while actively integrating AI and automation tooling to streamline analytical workflows.
