About the role

At Finova, we don’t just “test” software—we engineer quality. As a Quality Engineer, you will be a pivotal member of a cross‑functional delivery team, ensuring that high standards are baked into the software lifecycle from day one. You will bridge the gap between development and delivery, moving beyond manual execution to build robust automation suites and drive a “shift‑left” culture. This is a role for someone who wants to own quality across a product area, championing technical excellence and continuous improvement in a modern, cloud‑native environment.

• Shift‑Left Advocate: You believe that testing starts at the requirement phase, not after the code is written.
• Technically Minded: You have a solid foundation in automation and are eager to expand your skills in cloud and AI technologies.
• Collaborative Partner: You enjoy working closely with Developers, BAs, and Product Managers to solve complex delivery puzzles.
• Analytical & Rigorous: You enjoy digging into the “why” behind a failure, using structured frameworks to find root causes.
• Adaptable: You are comfortable context‑switching between API validation, UI automation, and functional exploration.
• Process‑Driven: You value clear documentation and traceability, ensuring that quality isn’t just achieved, but is also measurable.
• Future‑Focused: You are interested in the intersection of Quality Engineering and emerging tech like Machine Learning and AI.

What will you be doing

• You will be the quality heartbeat of your product team, responsible for everything from writing Gherkin scenarios to maintaining complex automation pipelines.
• Building Automation: Designing and maintaining automated test scripts (Selenium, Playwright, or Cypress) and integrating them directly into our CI/CD pipelines.
• Validating Modern Tech: Testing cloud‑hosted microservices and APIs, while helping define how we validate our AI and ML‑powered features.
• Driving Shift‑Left: Participating in sprint grooming and planning to review requirements for testability and writing BDD scenarios.
• Investigating Incidents: Supporting Root Cause Analysis (RCCA) for critical incidents using 5‑Why or Ishikawa methods to prevent recurrence.
• Managing Risk: Executing risk‑based testing strategies to ensure we focus our efforts where they matter most for the business.
• Reporting on Health: Analyzing quality metrics—like defect density and automation coverage—to provide clear updates during sprint reviews.
• Continuous Evolution: Identifying gaps in our current test processes and proposing evidence‑based improvements to help us move faster and safer.
