Budget Manager - Information Technology
Work Arrangement: Hybrid Salary: $125,000-$145,000
About the Role
The IT Budget Manager oversees financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and spend management for the Information Technology department. The role manages annual operating and capital budgets, monitors technology expenses, and supports accurate financial reporting. Working with IT leadership and Corporate Finance, the position ensures technology investments remain within budget and support business objectives. Responsibilities also include vendor financial management, cost allocation, and financial tracking for major technology projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, develop, and monitor annual IT operating and capital budgets.
- Perform monthly budget-to-actual variance analysis.
- Prepare financial reports and forecasts for executive management.
- Review, reconcile, and approve IT invoices, software licenses, maintenance contracts, and vendor agreements.
- Maintain cost-allocation models across departments, business units, and project lines.
- Track spending on major technology projects, including total cost of ownership and return on investment.
- Establish standardized procedures for budget tracking, invoice processing, and financial controls.
- Support cost optimization across technology spending.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Information Systems, or a related field.
- 3-5+ years of experience in FP&A, accounting, or IT budget management.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including financial modeling, pivot tables, and formulas.
- Experience with ERP or accounting software.
- Experience with reporting tools.
